Coffee Table Books

I love styling with books- all kinds of books, but my favorite is the Coffee Table Book! They are hot right now, but they are nothing new- they have been around since the early 1900’s. They were reserved only for the wealthy at first, but they became somewhat more affordable in the post-war period. The rise of popularity of the Coffee Table Book came in the 1960’s when coffee tables started being mass produced. Coffee Table Books not only add a touch of class to a room, but the art, colors and subject can reveal personality of a room, Below are some of my fave books to style with- all can be found on Amazon! I like to get a few and stack them or if the pages are full of color, I will display it open. Choose your books by your interests- maybe you love golf, wine, music or a favorite country you have visited!

Dallas Market

Yesterday, I traveled to Dallas with a few other Home Stagers to the Total Home and Gift Market. We strolled the Market for hours discovering new trends in Home Furnishings, Accessories and Decor. Here are few take-aways!

The Market is a 5 million square foot campus!! There were probably 1000 (or more!) vendors showcasing their latest designs and styles. This is the view looking up at one of the buildings!

Abstract Art

Abstract Art has always been a fantastic way to make a bold statement on a wall or enhance a room without overpowering and it looks like it is here to stay! Mixing colors, boldness, calming- all variations of Abstracts, just depending on the mood of the room. I use a lot of Abstracts in Home Staging and can’t wait to add more to my collection!

Texture and Color

Wood, leather, metal, velvet, blue, black, natural and blush were all common denominators throughout the Market, It doesn’t matter the style, texture and color were everywhere!

Brining the Outdoors In!

I have always loved to style with natural elements, especially in Home Stating. We saw a lot of this with woods, natural gems and greenery.

It was an inspiring day and a great way to start the New Year!! I can’t wait to use all these elements of design in my next Staging Projects!
